At The Elwood with Cece and Mciver

At The Elwood with Cece and Mciver

Once upon a time... before the reign of the evil covid-19, two rad princesses welcomed us into their retro palace, The Elwood bar in Chula Vista. The photoshoot started with some shots and giggles.
PSA- No alcohol was wasted in the making of this shoot.
We had the bar to ourselves, which was new for us! We're used to shooting in bars and making friends with the drunk locals but at the Elwood, we RAN THE SHOW.
One perk was getting to play behind the bar! Here's Mciver brainstorming a recipe for a gourmet drink in the Support Your Local Dive Bar tee.
Another perk: getting to climb on the pool table!! Peep Cece in our new Life's a Bitch, Then You Die tee.
We love a BTS styling moment featuring Kelly!
When Mciver pulled up in this rad thing, it blew our minds. How often do we get to shoot with such a cool car? Bonus points for it being on color scheme with our new USA DRINKING TEAM tee!
We had a blast shooting with these babes, and this location was a dream to shoot in. Big thanks to Cece, Mciver, and the Elwood. Stay rad, stay safe, stay home! (But once we can all leave again, GO TO THE ELWOOD!)

      Electric West x Disco Lemonade

      Electric West x Disco Lemonade

Wanna see what happens when two badass women-run brands combine forces? Look no further. We teamed up with the amazing Disco Lemonade founder Carly Wasti, who creates one-of-a-kind accessories that just so happen to pair perfectly with our vintage-inspired tees. Carly and her friend/model/muse Jillian played dress up with us and WE CAN PROVE IT.
We arrived at Carly's awesome studio and could not stop browsing all of her amazing hand-made sunglasses and jewelry. Not to mention the eclectic collection of knick knacks, disco balls, and incredible vintage wardrobe.
Carly and Jillian charmed us immediately, and we very rarely stopped
laughing for the rest of the shoot.
We started pulling looks together and ended up with what we interpreted as a western/used car salesman/cowgirl look, which resulted in us running across the street to the used car lot. And they really got into character.
At one point, someone who worked at the car lot came out and asked for an instagram tag. He gave us his blessing to climb on the cars like a rap video, and for that, they get a shameless plug. Coast Motors REPRESENT
Our next location was a local liquor store with a great sign. We tried our best not to disturb passersby but eventually got *very politely* kicked out of the liquor store for scaring the customers. OOPS.
This shoot was so much fun! I loved working with other women artists and combining our styles to make something rad! Thanks to these badass babes for making it magical.
Thanks for checking out this awesome shoot with Disco Lemonade!

      Point Loma Adventures with Savannah

      Point Loma Adventures with Savannah

Y'all! I'm so excited! About! These! Photos! Our model is Savannah, who not only has an amazing look with that fiery hair and rad af style, but also is super funny and super willing to be the object of spectacle in a crowded bar. Here are some favorites from our Monday evening with Savannah.
We started off shooting some Electric West vintage. The black fringe top paired with the black hat, Savannah's copper hair with the copper and black colored glasses... could it be any more aesthetic??? NO.
To show off the Support Your Local Dive Bar tee, we decided to support a local dive bar. And so we ended up at Club Marina at 4:30 on a Monday and guess what! It was packed! We had to maneuver around a couple of pool players and blind the patrons with our flash, but we did it for the art!!!
Luckily, the bartender was down with us shooting inside. But that didn't stop all of the looks and hilarious commentary from the locals. Savannah took all of the attention like a champ and modeled through it with grace and badassness.
We bounced over to a liquor store in Point Loma for a couple colorful shots with the new High Hopes Low Standards tee. (Featuring the Baez scarf.)
And then we made the long trip from the outside of the liquor store to the inside.
But then we went back outside, LOL. Savannah is rocking the I Was Already Good...Beer Made Me Great tee.
We wrapped the shoot with a personal favorite tee, the Speed Demon ringer.
We love unexpected combinations, like this retro tee with a cowboy hat. It's the Electric West way.
Thanks for checking out this awesome shoot with Savannah!

      Ariel x Hayley Sikorski

      Ariel x Hayley Sikorski

Hey there! I'm Hayley, Electric West's new in-house photographer. I'm writing this blog from my desk in our office/studio in Little Italy. I'm super excited to share the some of my favorite shots and some fun details from our shoot with the lovely Ariel.
Our shoot with Ariel was my first Electric West brand photo shoot in San Diego. After having shot several times for this amazing company from Michigan over the past year or so I got a feel for my Electric West style and fully realized just how much this brand inspires me. I always knew I had a special place in my camera's heart for Electric West, but shooting in person with a San Diego-based model and the founder of this amazing company herself at some great local spots felt like a whole new level of loving what I do.
We started our shoot in the Try Some Kindness, Asshole tee and we hopped over to a liquor store nearby with a super retro sign and facade. Some kids asked me to buy them alcohol while we were shooting there. I didn't know that was a thing that happened in real life so I definitely felt like I was in a movie for a second. I guess art really does imitate life.
We broke out the If Lost Please Return Me To The Nearest Dive Bar tee at the nearest iconic dive bar, Nunu's. This place is a midcentury dream. What I remember most vividly about shooting outside of Nunu's was that it smelled like chili cheese fries and thank god Kelly is on her way here with burritos right now because this is making me hungry.
To wrap up the shoot we landed (pun intended) at Aero Club, a bar near the airport with some great neon signs and on-theme motifs. This look was heavily inspired by Thelma and Louise. You have the acid wash denim, the cowboy boots, the stylish yet functional Bebe neck scarf, the cowboy hat (probably left by a baby Brad Pitt) and the cheeky Beer Breakfast of Champions muscle tank. A girl on the run would end up at an airplane themed bar, wouldn't she?
This shoot will always be special to me. Thanks for checking it out!

      OBX with Katie Slater

I'm excited to share this new mini series, from Outer Banks, NC, based photographer, Katie Slater. Katie did two incredible shoots with some local beauties, and made some photo magic. Katie's first shoot, featured below was with the lovely Stephanie Olejniczak. This poolside shoot at a dreamy OBX hotel has got us feeling some serious Summer vibes, and dreaming of the east coast.
